Maintenance Care For Your Diamond Ring

Though Diamonds are considered the hardest natural mineral, it still needs extra care and regular cleaning to keep its shine. This article will give you tips on how to properly clean your diamond ring to keep it beautiful and shiny.

One way to clean your diamond ring is washing it with soap water. You can use soap water regularly to clean your precious jewelry. After washing, let your ring dry then wipe it with soft fabric. Wiping it with soft fabric will not only take some water stains off, it will also polish the diamond. Washing it with soap water is also good when you accumulate stains in your ring from your kitchen, especially when cooking.

All diamond cuts have crevices, this crevices accumulate dust from time to time you wear your diamond ring. The best way to keep the sparkle and take the dust off easily is to brush the diamond with worn, soft-bristle tooth brush.

Diamonds should be kept individually inside soft cloth pouches to avoid the stones from hitting each other. Some ring designs also give better safety for these stones: six-prong, four-prong and bezel setting are good designs to keep the stones safe.

Ammonia solution and cold water is also good to keep your diamond's shine. Soak your diamond ring in a mixture of ammonia solution and cold water for thirty minutes then wash your ring with tap water. Then brush it with soft fabric.

Note, touching your diamond with your fingertips too often will transfer the oil from your fingers to the diamond. Always hold your diamond ring by the edges, and remove it while doing handy works.

There are so many diamond cleaning agents available in the market right now. You can ask your local jeweler for more tips to take care of your precious ring. Some jewelers have special services like cleaning your jewelries for you.
