Significance of Wedding Rings

This is the wedding ring diamond cut info.Beautiful and complementing diamond wedding rings will look amazing but they should not overshadow the bride's engagement ring. Even if you want the ring to look nice with the engagement ring, you do not need to overshadow it; go through several rings and lay them along the engagement ring to see how they look together. The ideal of any wedding should be the allegiance two people make to be together through nice moments and bad, and a wedding ring when put on on the finger is the symbol of this. There are many orthodox rituals where presenting gifts to the engaged couple is quite normal and only ends when the wedding rings are at last put on with the vows.

Some people have substituted this traditional ritual with a more modern version where an 'eternity' ring is put on to indicate an eternal wedding. Another way to make your diamond wedding rings more unique and special to both you and your partner is to have them etched; something that means something to you both. Often plain rings just don't match the personality of the owners so if this is the case why not have both you and your partner's wedding rings given a unique style by having the rings etched; remember the rings should be a mirror-image of you and your partner. Choosing your wedding ring is a private thing so as long as you both concur, almost everything you decide will be right.

Throughout your wedding do not forget the significance of your wedding ring; it should be treated with esteem as it probable won't leave your finger very often. Irrespective of the style you finally decide upon, do not bring anything but the best quality. It is possible to buy diamond wedding rings inexpensively but this must not be done as it weakens the value and you can be sure the rings will not endure the test of time. If you are spending a good deal of money, you will need to be certain they fit perfectly on the wedding day.

To avoid embarrassment be certain that you receive your diamond wedding rings expertly measured instead of making a a wild guess. Ensuring the fit is good prevents the embarrassment of either the ring not fitting over the finger or of it falling off since it is too loose. Ordering the ring and any re-structuring should be one of the prior to purchasing the rings. things on your wedding day agenda, just as confirming your rings are expertly fitting, which shouldn't be left until the last minute. It could be that you are having an re-structuring and other engraving work as well so the jeweler will want as much time as possible to carry this out; permit no lesser than a couple of months for them to be adjusted.

Don't forget there are now more varieties of patterns so it could take you considerable time to decide. When you are both thinking about what diamond wedding rings to buy, base your choice on the design you are both immediately fascinated by; whilst keeping in mind that what appears good today might not be quite as fashionable after a few years. Finally, these rings have value and represent the emotions you both have for each other.

Why a Woman Needs So Many Different Types of Jewellery

The definition of the word "Jewellery" is literally any piece of fine material that someone uses to adorn themselves. It can be made out of almost every substance known to man and has been made to decorate nearly every body part, from hairpins, belly button and toe rings to regal tiaras, diamond rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings. While many of the high-quality pieces are made with gemstones like diamonds and sapphires and precious metals like platinum, the cheaper but very attractive items of costume jewellery are made from less valuable materials and tend to be mass-produced.

With a description that offers such enormous scope, it is no wonder that "a woman can never have enough jewellery". For example, different pieces are needed to mirror moods: someone feeling flamboyant would probably wear some large pieces like chandelier earrings, a multi coloured gem set pendant and bracelet and colourful three stone ring set with mixed gemstones like diamonds, rubies, sapphires or emeralds. While a quieter mood could be reflected by wearing something like diamond stud earrings and a diamond trilogy ring.

Or it might be that a significant event has occurred in her life: it is pretty obvious why she needs a diamond solitaire engagement and wedding ring, but maybe she has just had a baby - in which case a trinity or eternity ring is the thing to wear. Or she has just had a birthday and is wearing a piece of jewellery which has her birthstone set in it. If her birthday is in May and she is a Gemini for example then emeralds will commemorate this.

Then there are the pieces of jewellery that are given to bring her love and luck; like a diamond handbag pendant, wishbone, horseshoe, heart, lock or four leaf clover. And even if she does not have religious tendencies, diamond crosses are very popular nowadays.

The type of jewellery that a woman will wear for work is normally vastly different than what she will put on for a night out. Depending of what she does for a living she will need to consider if the jewellery she is wearing is durable and is easy to clean (claw set diamond solitaire rings can catch if the setting is very high; and diamond pave set jewellery needs more cleaning than a diamond bangle for example). If she has regular contact with important clients and is often in company boardrooms she will probably want to wear something very powerful but understated - a diamond solitaire ring and matching earrings spring immediately to mind here. But if she has a less formal job then there is nothing to stop her donning a pair of chandelier earrings and chunky bracelet.

For the evening "bling" is the thing at the moment and sparkling gemstone jewellery and a cocktail watch are de rigueur. There are some stunning pieces of cocktail jewellery on the market with many top designers lending their names to various ranges.

Hopefully you are now starting to get the picture why a woman needs so many different pieces of jewellery ...or it may be just a relaxed evening in with the girls or someone special, when diamond or huggy or hoop earrings, a tennis bracelet and wishbone pendant are comfortable pieces to wear.

For more energetic sports such as shopping (which can be a marathon!), playing tennis or swimming, then comfortable and secure jewellery like diamond stud earrings and a tennis bracelet (with its safety catch) are necessary. These are also the sort of items that she will wear on the beach - but maybe she will add something with a bit more sparkle to catch the sunlight - like diamond and pear or gem set earrings with sapphires and diamonds.

Clever women do not follow fads when collecting expensive items of jewellery, but wear pieces fashioned in materials follows like gold, diamonds and sapphires which have timeless designs and are a sound investment. A huge range less expensive but trendy cocktail jewellery is what she needs to keep up with current fashions.

Unusual settings will create designs with a difference, and sparkling gemstones in unusual combinations with semi-precious stones like rubies will give her jewellery a futuristic look. A lot of smaller diamond pieces can be worn on any occasion with any outfit.

The list goes on and on ... by now I am sure you will see that a woman always needs another piece of jewellery ... and you cannot go wrong by giving it as a present.

Caring For Your Gold Jewellery

Gold Jewellery - Care Advice

So you've been given a beautiful piece of gold jewellery? Here's how to look after it properly.

Gold is the softest of the precious metals. In fact the greater the purity, the softer it is. Hence the 'old' prospector's biting test - pure gold is marked by a hard nibble! (Not to be advised without a dentist on standby!)

This 'softness' property is one of the reasons why it became so precious and desirable, to every civilisation. Gold, although rare and difficult to obtain could be easily 'worked' - Just one ounce can be beaten out to cover a surface area of over 27 square metres!

In it's purest form it is too soft to be of any use in the making of Jewellery. The pure gold is alloyed with silver, copper and various other metals in order to render a material hard enough for jewellery. The percentage of pure gold, in a Jewellery alloy is denoted by its carat (k) weight. Pure gold is 24k (ie.100%), the other common alloy carat weights are 22k, 18k, 14k, 10k and 9k. 9k is the hardest alloy. Obviously, this means that 9k will scratch all the softer k weights. This is the reason it's advisable to always wear items of the same  carat weight, if your jewellery is likely to come into contact (rings etc). Gold is resistant to oxidative corrosion - it won't tarnish, rust or corrode.

A few 'golden rules':

Remove your gold jewellery when using chemicals and engaging in manual work. Gold will scratch abrade reducing its lustrous appearance.
Remove your jewellery when swimming - Chlorine will affect its lustre.
To clean jewellery use warm water and cotton wool. For heavy soiling use a weak solution of warm water and detergent-free soap.
Gold is softer than sand. Sand will scratch your jewellery. Don't wear it on the beach!
Always store your jewellery separately in a soft stable-temperature environment. Ideally, keep your jewellery in the box with which it was supplied.
To give your jewellery a deep clean it can be immersed in a very weak (just a pinch), sodium bicarbonate/boiling water solution for a few seconds. Carefully dry the jewellery immediately with a soft cotton cloth. (*Do not do this if your jewellery contains gemstones).

White Gold:

White Gold was originally developed in the 1920's as an alternative to Platinum. It's not actually another type of gold; there's no such thing as 'pure' white gold, or 24k white. It's simply an alloy in which the choice of alloyed metals has been made to achieve a 'white' or platinum like colour.

Rhodium Coating:

Most white gold jewellery has a thin coating of Rhodium to enhance its 'whiteness' and reflective properties. Rhodium is a member of the platinum family of metals and serves as a good protective coating to the jewellery, as well as enhancing the colour. Rhodium is harder than gold and will wear much better as a consequence. However, this rhodium coating will wear through with time, which will expose the alloy underneath. As the white gold alloy will be a darker, less white colour, this wear will be noticeable. It is a simple matter to reapply the rhodium coating; most jewellers make a small charge for this.

Chatham Diamond is a Diamond, is a Diamond

A diamond is a tetrahedral carbon crystal grown within the earth under the right conditions of chemistry, temperature and pressure. Diamonds are found naturally in igneous rock brought close to the surface in volcanic flues. Very small diamonds are also formed by meteor impacts which create the right heat and pressure conditions for nearly instantaneous crystal growth.

A Chatham diamond is a tetrahedral carbon crystal grown in a controlled environment under the right conditions of chemistry, temperature and pressure. In other words, a Chatham diamond is not merely like a diamond - it is a diamond - with the same hardness, chemical composition and crystal structure as any diamond dug from the earth.

Carroll F. Chatham began growing gemstone quality emerald crystals in his laboratory in 1938 from a "seed" of naturally occurring emerald. After about 65 years of research and experimentation the Chatham Company is now able to grow gemstone quality diamond crystals with the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as mined diamonds. Chatham is not the only producer of synthetic diamonds although it is one of the few companies able to produce gemstone quality diamonds. Most synthetic diamonds are used in industrial and electronics applications.

A Chatham diamond has the same hardness (10), specific gravity (3.5), refractive index (2.4), dispersion (0.044) and melting point (3820 kelvin) as a mined diamond. Chatham diamonds are grown to 1 or 1.5 carats in about 14 months. They are cut and polished the same way as any other diamond gemstone.

The geographic origin of mined diamonds can be determined through the examination of inclusions and trapped crystal imperfections which are peculiar to say Brazilian or African diamonds. Chatham diamonds also have a crystalline signature and are distinguishable in the same way as mined diamonds, and in no other way.

What most distinguishes a Chatham diamond from its mined counterpart is that the Chatham diamond is brought to market without the same social, political and economic burdens. As a result Chatham diamonds can be purchased for less money.

Choosing and Wearing Mystic Topaz Earrings

The ancients have long valued topaz for its mystical, talismanic and healing properties but modern women value it for its incredible beauty and the latent popularity of this semi-precious stone has given it the status of a gem. Topaz comes in many natural colours but it is the artificially-induced iridescent colouration given to clear or white topaz that has captivated the world and, consequently, sent prices soaring.

Ordinary topaz has become 'Mystic' with a heating treatment and the application of an ultra-thin film of titanium which causes the prismatic action that transforms the clear stone into a dazzling rainbow of shimmering colours. It is hardly surprising that demand for this gorgeous gem is going through the roof and what nicer way to wear it than in a set of earrings?

A small pair of studs (4 mm) set in sterling silver can be yours for as little as $4.99 from Amazon, while King Ice have princess-cut sets with the same sized gem for $9.99. But if you are going to wear something as beautiful as Mystic Topaz, you will surely want it to be noticed by all. Heavenly Treasures has a 6 mm (1.5 ctw - or carat total weight] of gemstones - also in sterling silver, for $24.99. All these, of course, are for pierced ears. A similar-sized round or oval stud in 14 K yellow gold will cost $59.99 from stores like Target, J C Penny or Overstock. Slightly more comfortable and secure than a stud is the lever-back style and both Sears and K-Mart are offering a pair of 10K white gold Mystic Topaz and diamond earrings for only $59.99. To view all of these simply enter your chosen keywords into your usual search engine.

If you prefer your Mystic Topaz earrings in a dangly style, Tibet Shining have a beautiful pair of sterling silver, 8-carat gems that have to be seen to be truly appreciated. These unique earrings are hand-crafted with hook fasteners and retail for only $55.99. They would be a perfect complement if you like to wear diamond cocktail rings, such as the beautiful 10K white gold oval-cut mystic topaz and diamond ring from Joolwe, or the more modestly priced Mystic Fire Topaz and white sapphire ring, available from Gordon's Jewelers for $149.99.

Hoop style earrings have always been popular but Gemolica has taken hoop earring to a new dimension by using the 14 K white gold hoops to showcase six individual 4mm round Mystic Topaz gemstones and all for an amazing bargain price of $70.99 - that is 50% off the regular price. For a very special occasion or gift, 'My Black Diamonds' has just the answer with their 2.75 ctw Mystic Topaz and.04 Ct AA black diamonds in 14K white gold. At $258.00, these are not for every day wear, but when you want to dress up, you want to do it in style!

If you are spending so much on your new earrings, then a word of advice about the care of them might be timely. Always remove them when bathing and sleeping, and, as with rings, avoid any kind of abrasives when cleaning (just a rub with a soft lint-free cloth is all that is necessary); and store them carefully when not in use. With care, your beautiful Mystic Topaz rings and earrings will be a delight to wear for years to come.

Peruvian Blue Opals - How to Spot a Fake

If you're looking for blue opals, then a Peruvian blue opal should be your gemstone of first choice. These gems are becoming more and more rare as time goes on, as they can only be mined n the Andes mountains near San Patricio, Peru. The unfortunate result is that some mines are producing different types of gemstones and dying them blue in order to pass these stones off as Peruvian blue opal. (Luckily, if you're looking for an opal inlay ring, this is less of a problem, as the fake opals tend to be used for beads). Opal inlay rings made with blue opals would be a beautiful addition to any jewelry collection.

There are a few ways for you to tell if the Peruvian blue opals you're looking at are not real. The most obvious clue is that fake blue opals will be relatively cheap - around $30-$40 for an entire strand of beads. Since the real opals are growing more and more rare, you would never be able to buy a string of beads for so cheap. After all, an opal inlay ring made with blue opal will be several hundred or even thousands of dollars.

Generally, if a company is making fake Peruvian blue opals, they will take white opals and then work to dye them. If you're worried that you might be buying fake blue opals, you should take a good look at the stones. In a lot of cases, you can tell that it is just a dyed white opal by looking with the naked eye. The blue coloring will be uneven, especially when you turn the stone so the light hits it from different directions. This is very useful if you're thinking about buying an opal inlay ring with blue opal, since you won't be able to tell by the price in some cases, and the weight will be difficult to determine due to the rest of the ring.

Estate Diamonds - Can I Purchase a Quality Diamond in the Second Hand Market?

Diamonds are a precious type of stone which can be purchased through a variety of mediums. Some choose to go to their local jewelry stores to browse the selection in order to make a purchase whereas others tend to look to less mainstream methods to acquire a diamond. Estate diamonds purchased through the second hand market are an additional way to look for diamonds which some individuals tend to prefer. This may be due to the desire to purchase a diamond which has been passed through the generations or perhaps the consumer is simply looking to acquire the best deal possible on the purchase of this type of gemstone. Whatever the reason may be, those who wish to buy estate diamonds on the second hand market may wonder if they will be able to do so and still get a top-notch quality diamond.

Buying a Quality Diamond in the Second Hand Market

Buying estate diamonds can be a tricky venture for some as it is often hard to know exactly what one is getting unless they are a trained gemologist. With that said, for those who wish to purchase a diamond of this type, they should not shy away from doing so simply for that reason alone. Buying estate jewelry and estate diamonds in particular will often yield a wonderful heirloom for the buyer. It is good to know that it is highly possible to purchase a quality diamond in the second hand market. However, there are a few tips one should keep in mind when venturing out to estate sales to do so.

Tips for Buying Estate Diamonds

There are a few tips which may come in handy when buying gemstones in this manner. The first tip is to research one's options thoroughly prior to settling on a specific stone. One will often find many estate sales which offer diamonds for sale that may peak their interest. It is important not to settle for the first diamond piece which one sets their eyes upon or the first estate sale which one comes across. By looking around and doing your independent research on different estate diamond options, you will be much more likely to settle on a diamond which is perfect for you.

Another tip to keep in your back pocket when buying estate diamonds is to consider the advice of a professional prior to buying the stone. By having the diamond looked at by a gemologist, the buyer can be much more assured that their purchase is of a good quality and worth the money. One is sure to find a professional in their area who completes these types of appraisals or reviews and considering this option prior to the purchase may be a wise choice for the buyer.

Lastly, consumers who like to buy estate diamonds may find that by educating themselves on the subject of identifying quality diamonds of this type may be helpful as well. There are many books and websites on the topic of estate jewelry and diamonds. By reviewing some of these resources, the buyer may be able to get a good feel for what diamond exudes good quality characteristics and which one does not. Although one may not be considered an expert on the subject of estate jewelry and estate diamonds simply by reading up on the subject, they may be able to acquire a good deal of necessary knowledge to aid them in their quest for a quality diamond on the second hand market.

What Are Right Hand Rings?

Well, it seems that diamonds are not only meant for engagements any more. More diamonds than ever are being sold in the form of right rings. An incredible increase in the sales of right hand rings has got many people wondering. What is a right hand ring and what does it mean?

A right hand ring is one that may have diamonds or other stones, but it does not look like a wedding or engagement ring. They generally are more decorative or ornate than traditional engagement rings or wedding bands. The good thing about right hand rings is that you can buy one for yourself!

Originally, right hand rings were worn to accentuate the fact that you did not have an engagement or wedding ring on the left hand. You could give your suitor a silent hint that you loved diamond rings, but you were purposely leaving that left ring finger open to invitation. Now, everyone is buying them. They are becoming incredibly popular and have pretty much taken over the costume jewelry market. Women now want jewelry that compliments their matrimonial set. Costume jewelry just does not make the grade any more. Why cheapen that beautiful ring on your left hand by wearing something gaudy and fake on the right? Real diamonds and gold or platinum are the way to go.

Right hand rings make great gifts to give or receive. You can give a right hand ring your own meaning. Some give them as congratulatory rings. Some give them as an anniversary gift or wedding gift. Right hand rings can really show someone how special you think they are. They make wonderful promise rings or mother rings. You have so many design choices that you may find it hard to make up your mind. With this type of gift, you really can not get too luxurious. Maybe now you can buy your special lady that diamond that you could not afford back when you were dating and gave her an engagement ring. That original ring does not necessarily need to be replaced, but maybe complimented by a giant diamond right hand ring. Okay, if giant is not quite your speed, there are plenty of delicate designs to choose from.

Unlike diamond solitaires, although many right hand rings now sport big diamonds, you can find a right hand ring to fit your budget.

Gold Belly Button Rings

Gold belly button rings are one of the most expensive types of belly button rings. Because of the material used for such products. Costs can range from $100 to $300 per piece.

Basically, there are two types of gold belly button rings. The first one is 14K yellow gold while the second is 14K white gold. To further enhance the appearance of such belly button rings, charms and stones are also added. Among the most common stones that go with gold belly button rings are amethyst, diamond, topazes or zirconias.

An example of high-selling gold belly button ring is a 14K gold belly button ring with matching blue topaz butterfly design. The piece normally costs $120. Another famous design is 14K white gold belly button ring diamond. The product costs $110. There are also plain gold or white gold pieces. These types do not come with stones or charms. Instead, the material itself is used to come up with attractive designs such as dolphins or dangling suns.

Gold belly button rings are also attractive because it has been found that the gold material is the safest for almost all skin types. Gold does not trigger harmful reaction from the skin and can therefore prevent infections that could otherwise be caused by other materials such as sterling silver and gold imitations.

Because of the high costs of gold belly button rings, payment can be made through credit cards. Orders can be placed online and the product/s will be delivered after three days purchase was made.

To guarantee customers of the quality of the products, gold belly button rings implement certain return policies. Among the conditions of return is that the product has not been damaged because of faulty mishandling by the buyer. The product should also be returned in its original packaging. The certificates should also be included. However, the cost of having the product shipped back to the store is not usually reimbursable.

The Diamond Anniversary Ring - A Milestone, an Anniversary and a Promise

Before anything else, congratulations are definitely in order to the both of you for maintaining a happy and successful marriage. As we already know, it takes more than just a little hard work and patience to make a marriage work, especially in such a treacherous, divorce prone society. That is why celebrating the milestones in your relationship, big and small, are so important. When the desire to reinforce your love calls, what better way to express your eternal love for her than through a beautiful, exclusive diamond anniversary ring?

The anniversary ring, also called an "eternity" ring is a symbol of everlasting love. The symbolism is inherent to its design and can be found in a wide variety of beautiful styles. Though usually set with diamonds, stones as well as settings can vary greatly. Anniversary rings can fall along the lines of the wedding set or take on an entirely different look, depending on your individual preference.

Some of the more popular styles include the traditional anniversary ring, which have channel set diamonds across the top half, the "full" anniversary rings, which have stones all the way around the band, and the three stone anniversary ring. Your style of choice should depend on your unique milestone occasion and most importantly, your wife's personal taste. Regardless to which style you choose, your ultimate goal is to capture the romantic meaning behind the ring. Anniversary rings are designed to compliment the existing wedding band or engagement ring that a woman has worn for years, symbolizing commitment, partnership and promise for many years to come. It is those aspects in marriage that make an anniversary ring a symbolic reflection of your steadfast commitment to each other.

Of course the difference between 25 years and 10 years is significant, so you'll want to shop appropriately. The price of anniversary rings can depend on a number of factors such as style, design and originality. However, price should be an insignificant factor since it is merely the thought, consideration and sentiment that hallmark's this milestone gift, making it so very special.

Gold at the End of the Rainbow

We are all searching for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow which now seems to have transferred to the internet.

The trouble is that grumpy old leprechaun that guards it manages to keep it well hidden, so first of all we have to find a way to get rid of him before we can start searching for it.

Now we all know that the grumpy old leprechaun is a myth so that obstacle has been disposed of, and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is the dream we all have of making our fortune.

The internet holds all sorts of possibilities for us as fortunes have been made, and many people are earning five to ten times more than they ever could with an ordinary job.

The problem with many people is that though they dream about making a fortune they are not prepared to put themselves out to try and make it.

As I am a team leader in an affiliate program I have heard so many excuses from thousands of people.

I can't afford it
I don't have enough time
I don't understand it
Its a scam
I'll think about it
These are just a few.

What they don't realise is that the gold at the end of the rainbow is within touching distance and they just have to reach out and grasp it.

I am not saying it is easy, if it was we would all be made of money. It requires effort, work, and commitment to get started and the determination to succeed.

When you reach a low ebb where nothing seems to be working, and it happens to most people, this is the time to shake yourself and say "Its not going to beat me".

Determination and patience is the key to finding that pot of gold.

Let us start at the beginning, you have joined a program and paid your subscription fee what do you do now?

If you are sensible you will read everything you can find on the website it is there to help you, if you don't understand it then cut it into sections and read each one over and over until it suddenly clicks into place.

If that doesn't work then if it is a reliable program you will have a mentor at the end of an email and you just have to ask for their help and advice.

Never email them and say "I have just joined under you so what do I do now"? Explain to them that you have read the information but you don't really understand it and can they help you.

Now it is in your mentors interest to help and advise you as you could end up a team leader and make lots more money for him as your affiliates will do for you.

There is nothing worse than to have an affiliate pay their subscription for a few months then suddenly opt out with no explanation or not having bothered to contact you at all.

You have lost an affiliate that could have been a good team leader if they had asked for help, and they have lost the money they paid for their subscriptions.

Let us look at it in context, if a relative left you a shop in their will. For instance let us say a pet shop, and you knew nothing whatever about pets but you fancied the idea of running your own shop what would you do?

Would you open up on Monday morning and stand behind the counter waiting for the customers to come and buy them? or would you go out and purchase some books to read up on them so you would know what to feed them and how to keep them clean and learn as much about them as you possibly could.

If you have happy and healthy pets and you know what a packet of canary seeds looks like you will have no problems selling them and your new shop will thrive.

Business is the same you need to learn all about it so you can explain to your affiliates what they want to know and how to go about it. You will have a happy team, a successful business and the pot of gold is getting closer every day.

This Valentine's Day, Let Your Man Be a Man

Relationships are all about respecting your partner and letting him be when he asks for it. It should be said that there are some people who think that Valentine's Day is such an overrated affair. Some people ever prefer not to go out on a date during Valentine's Day. If your man is one of these people, try not to force your romantic ideas on him by giving him mushy notes. Instead, why not let your man be a man by giving him manly gifts?

We can understand if your mind has been too conditioned on giving out those mushy Valentine's gifts, consider giving your man some very manly gifts. Here are the top manly gifts that you can give to your man:

* Beer Brewing Kit

Forget laptop computers and miniature cell phones, the best "micro-nization" to have happened that's exciting is the creation of the micro brewery kit. A beer brewing kit has everything you need including the ingredients for your first batch of tasty beer.

Imagine an entire brewery downsized to a micro mini size no larger than the average picnic cooler. Your man can brew his own tasty beer right at home.

* Boxer Shorts

There are many, many boxer shorts that have a lot of different fun designs on them. From bear designs to M&M prints and many others, choose from any striking design that your man will love. Don't forget to enclose an enticing love note when you're giving this gift to him.

* Gadgets

A lot of men are known to be suckers for gadgets, and your man could be one too. Some of known hot gadgets that are inexpensive are Apple iPod speakers with alarm clocks, a wireless headset, and a flip video recorder.

* Jewelry

Men can be as intense as women in their search for fine jewelry. Give your man some handsome pieces of jewelry like white gold men's ring with diamond inlay or stainless steel bracelets.

* Money Clips

A money clip is the perfect gift for a man who thinks wallets are too pretentious or cumbersome or both. Money clips are never too simple. There are different styles of money clips made out of 14 karat gold, stainless steel, sterling silver or leather. Some are even accented with carbon fiber, diamond, titanium, onyx, and hematite.

* Watches

Cell phone clocks can never replace the elegance of wristwatches. Go ahead and buy your man a timepiece that would fit his taste.

Diamond Band Rings - An Engagement of the Heart

To celebrate the engagement of a couple is definitely a beautiful and happy moment, not just for the couple's lives, but also for the friends and family who support them all the way. When a man proposes to the woman that he loves, it is surely something the woman will always remember for a lifetime. The preparations the man had made and the heartfelt proposal is wonderful. Of course, who can forget the engagement ring?

The engagement ring is usually presented as a solitaire ring with a single, yet beautiful, diamond carefully placed on top of the ring. Even having that one diamond in itself is such a wonderful thing for the woman. However, one of the popular trends when it comes to rings today is the diamond band rings.

So you may be asking, "What kind of rings are these anyway?" Well diamond band rings are basically a ring that usually has diamonds all the way around it. These would also be called the eternity ring, because it symbolizes the love and commitment that is to last for all eternity. However, there are also the kinds of rings that have the diamonds only surrounding the top half of the band. The biggest difference between this type of ring and the "traditional" engagement ring is that the diamonds do not protrude out from the ring. They are deeply embezzled within and are very secure. They are also usually smaller diamonds; however, it doesn't mean that it is less elegant.

These bands with diamonds are very elegant, and also very practical, especially for people who have a very active lifestyle and would not like to constantly have to take out their ring just to work. The diamond bands will surely be secure on the ring and it is definitely a unique style for an engagement ring.

I know everyone has the inner desire to be different than the rest; so for all the men out there who is looking for a ring in order to propose to your lady; why not consider buying the diamond band ring. It will surely not disappoint her!

Choose Your Wedding Ring Wisely

There is a very large number of wedding rings available in the shops these days. In fact, you have the world of wedding rings to choose from. The high street shops in a large town have a pretty good assortment, but the Internet lays the best jewellers and the best styles out for your inspection.

So, it is very important that you take your time when selecting one. Maybe the enormous range of wedding rings makes that more difficult not easier. Diamond wedding rings have been the most popular since ordinary working people could afford them, before that a plain band of gold had to suffice, for people who could afford that much.

Nowadays, Western people have become more daring and they are choosing other stones like the stunningly beautiful blue sapphire. Some even choosing not to have a stone at all, going back to tradition, so to speak. However, there are lots of examples of not so simple bands of gold too.

There is the Irish Claddagh ring with its characteristic two hands holding a crowned heart symbolizing love, friendship and loyalty; and there is the Celtic Knot with its intricately interwoven strands twisting and turning without end, standing for eternity and eternal love despite the twists and turns and difficulties of daily life.

So, selecting a wedding ring is not just a question of choosing a beautiful wedding ring, you should be selecting one that says what you want it to say. You could look up on the Internet what the different metals and various stones mean traditionally. If you cannot find a ring that says what you want, consider having one made. It is not as expensive as you might think.

Tradition is a good thing when it comes to wedding rings. After all, you want your ring to express your eternal love and devotion for the person you are giving it to and your marriage could last fifty or sixty years, especially with people living longer these days. With a bit of luck, you will wear this ring for the rest of your life, so pick a style that seems ageless to you.

Selecting a wedding ring is not as straightforward as it looks, because you are going to be wearing your ring every day for the rest of your life, so it should be something that you will not get tired of in a couple years. You should look at and try on many rings in order to get one that feels good. You will want a ring that does not look out of date in ten years time. The easiest way of doing that is to go for a traditional style, because those styles have already stood the test of time.

One last piece of advice is to ask the jeweller to attest to the total carat weight of the stones in the ring and the weight of each individual stone and the quality and weight of the metal (although it should be hallmarked) on paper,

then if it gets lost or stolen you have something to show the insurance company.

Gold Wedding Rings

The brides and grooms exchange wedding rings on the day of matrimony while taking marriage vows. This is because many individuals consider this as a way of expressing love, trust, promise, and companionship. The wedding ring is generally worn on ring finger of the left hand. A wedding ring is different from an engagement ring and may be made of gold, platinum, titanium, and even white gold.

Individuals largely go for gold rings, as this material is known for its durability. Materials like copper and brass are not used very often as they lack durability and have a tendency to deteriorate.

Gold is available in both yellow as well as in form of white gold. Research has indicated that white gold is gaining popularity, because it is a bit cheaper than real gold and is the apt substitute as compared to any other material. The only drawback is that white gold wedding rings are only available in 14 k or 18 k styles.

Couples can also opt for mixture of two or more alloys along with gold to create a special and inexpensive wedding ring. Gold can be combined with platinum and studded with a diamond on the top. Some individuals also prefer stylish engraved wedding rings that are made out of gold. The engravings could be either the family's name or the name of the bride's and groom's. They also may contain certain words articulating the thoughts and feelings of the giver. Such engraved wedding rings often become family heirlooms and are passed on to the future generations, hence, should be carefully handled. Wedding rings should be cleaned regularly with a soap and water solution to keep them sparkling clean all the time.

Many online retailers display beautiful gold design wedding rings for the viewers, so they can have a look at all the varieties available with the seller and determine whether the seller permits made-to-order rings. A small description of the material with its weight, make and name of additional metal, if any, is also mentioned along with its picture.

Which Metal is Best For Charm Bracelets?

As far as most people are concerned there are basically two different types of charm bracelets and those are gold bracelets and silver bracelets. While that is basically correct, there are actually several different types of both gold and what appears to be silver in charm bracelets. Knowing the different metal available will help you make a decision on which is right for you based on budget, style and preferences.

While historically yellow gold bracelets have been the tradition, this is certainly not the case anymore. Generally yellow gold charm bracelets can be traced back to the ancient Pharaohs of Egypt, making them the true original charm bracelets. Gold bracelets can be several different types from 10k all the way up to 18k. The higher karat number the more actual gold is in the metal, resulting in a richer color but also a slightly softer surface which may lead to more scratching and damage with daily wear.

Higher karat ratings on the bracelets also mean that the 18k styles are more expensive than the 14k or the 10k, although this also depends on size, weight and style. Many women choose from the 18k for evening wear and have a 10k or 14k for daily wear.

Another option from yellow gold is to go with white gold charm bracelets. White gold is durable, brilliant yet has a natural softer glow. White gold charms are becoming more popular but are still not as common as yellow gold or sterling silver. White gold tends to be more costly than yellow gold for the same types of designs.

Combining white and yellow gold on charm bracelets results in a very versatile two tone bracelet. Yellow gold can also be combined with sterling silver for the same effect at a slightly lower cost. Two tone bracelets can have different strands of metals on the bracelet or the links can alternate between white and yellow gold colors.

For the most expensive yet also the most durable types of bracelets look towards those made of platinum. Made of a naturally strong and stain resistant metal, platinum charm bracelets match well with white gold and sterling silver charms.

For most people, sterling silver bracelets are a great match for both evening and daily wear. These bracelets are very resistant to staining and damage but will need an occasional cleaning to stay brilliant and shiny. Silver is easily cleaned with soap and water or a jeweler's cloth when necessary.

Jewelry, particularly charm bracelets, needs to be made with both beauty and wear-ability in mind. Buying the most expensive metal may not be possible, but look for good quality and workmanship in the bracelet as well as the type of metal used. Charm bracelets from reputable manufacturers are always the best option but be sure to shop around and find just the bracelet that you want.

Enamel Jewelry - Beautiful and Brilliant History

Today's enamel jewelry has a beautiful finish and comes in hundreds of wonderful colors. Recently the "new enamel" has emerged; bright epoxy paints that embrace the color spectrum and can turn a plain piece of pewter jewelry into something stunningly original.

True enamel jewelry making involves fusing colored, powdered glass to metals using heat. In the 1950s my parents kept a small kiln in the old coal cellar of our house where they created masterpieces in ashtrays and screw-on earrings. (Both of them were artists, but this was just a side hobby) I still have some lovely examples of copper earrings with intricately patterned enameling in warm colors and designs.

Perhaps the epoxy paints used to produce so many of today's masterpieces shouldn't strictly be called enamel, but at first glance there isn't much difference. Purists may differ, but materials used to produce various effects do alter through time.

I find it fascinating that some enamel work has been found as early as the Hellenistic epoch, a period of time from Alexander the Great's death in 323 B.C. to 146 B.C. when the Romans conquered Greece. By the end of this time period, enameling and use of colored stones in jewelry making was becoming more popular than work done by the gold and silversmiths of the day. I think people of all times have loved color, and the brilliance of a ruby or even an earring inset with colorful but inexpensive enamel began competing with the precious metals for the eye of the rich shopper centuries ago.

The 5th century Byzantine world saw the creation of very ornate jewelry. Enameling was liberally used in the designs, along with peals and precious stones. There was much beautiful jewelry created during this time period, all the way up to 1204 when Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine empire fell during the Crusades and so many gorgeous objects of art were melted down for their worth in gold and silver alone.

The Anglo-Saxons of the 7th century created some intricate cloisonné enamel work, much of it polychrome, meaning "many colors". These were detailed designs reminiscent of Celtic knot work and must have been incredibly time consuming.

Moving forward into the early Renaissance, enamel continued as a favorite medium for many jewelry artists. I'm looking at a photo of a lovely enamel pendant in gold and blue depicting a branch with many-hued birds. It seems to be a locket, although the shape is irregular so it certainly didn't hold a painted portrait. Perhaps it was used to keep herbs or gemstones inside.

Wherever artists create jewelry, enamel will be found. From detailed cloisonné work in ancient China to today's epoxy enamel earrings and pins, color will always evoke emotion and excitement. Enamel has long been a way to enter color into designs without having to supply the expensive and limited variations of precious and semiprecious stones.

Platinum Engagement Ring or White Gold Engagement Ring? Let's Look At The Differences

What are the differences between white gold and platinum? This is one of the most frequent questions I get in my inbox. If you are shopping for an engagement ring and know that your special lady doesn't want yellow gold, then you are left choosing between platinum and white gold. There are some major differences between the two metal, so let's have a closer look.

First, let's look at exactly white gold is. Oddly enough, it isn't actually "white". White gold is actually the same gold used in yellow gold, but is mixed with other metals such as alloy and zinc to give it a white appearance. As well, white gold is then plated with another white metal - rhodium. This is done to give it an ever whiter appearance.

White gold actually has a tinge of yellow to it (especially if mixed with nickel) or a greyish tinge (often found is mixed with palladium). When the white gold is plated with rhodium, it gets a much crisper and whiter appearance. Rhodium has properties somewhat similar to platinum, however this plating will wear off. You will need to get the white gold replated about every 12-24 months. There are some people who don't mind the natural look of white gold so they never need to get it replated, however most people prefer the whiter look. This is very inexpensive, but the ring will be out of your hands for at least a few days. Platinum gets it fame from being the most durable metal out there. Platinum is very resistant to damage - it will literally last a lifetime. It is also a dense metal which means it is heavier than white gold.

Unlike white gold, Platinum does not need to be plated with anything. You will never have to take it in for replating. It does requite polishing from time to time though, otherwise it can get a "matte" or somewhat dull look to it. Some people also feel platinum starts to get a greyish look until is is polished. Platinum is gonna cost you about three times as much as white gold. It is a rarer metal which is why you can expect to fork out more cash for it. I don't like to recommend one over the other, as it can depend on the person. In terms of looks, I think they are equally beautiful. You have to look at what is important to you.

If money is tight, stick with white gold. You will have to take it in every now and then for replating, but it really isn't that much of a bother. And don't automatically think that because it is cheaper that it isn't as "good" as platinum. It's a beautiful metal - just not quite as strong as platinum. If you want a ring that is truly going to last a lifetime(maybe you want to pass it down to future generations) I suggest going with platinum. You also won't have to worry about taking it in as often as white gold which some people find to be a huge upside.

It is also a good idea to go and have a look at the two metals in person. Can you spot any difference? If so, do you prefer the look of one over the other? Of course you will also have to find the most important part of your ring - the diamond! I can save you a lot of money on that part of the ring - just go read the guide I put together on buying a diamond. You can find it on my website.

Have fun with your engagement - my best to you and your special someone!

Men's Jewelry Trend - Masculine and Durable

Men's jewelry is becoming more and more popular. It used it be a shock for men on their wedding day when they first experienced the feeling on jewelry on their finger. But, nowadays men wear a variety of types of jewelry.

Men seem to have opened up to the idea since the trend has moved to more masculine products. For one, men do not want their jewelry to be mistaken for their wife's or girlfriend's jewelry. They want unique jewelry to compliment their strong characteristics. They also need durable items. The typical gold and silver used to make jewelry in the past are not going to cut it for a construction guy or male auto mechanic subject to daily wear and tear.

To meet the demands of durable and masculine characteristics, the men's jewelry industry has moved to three main metals: Stainless Steel, Titanium, and Tungsten.

Stainless steel is relatively hard and durable. It is silvery in color and does not stain, corrode, or rust as much as other steels. It is typically used for fashion jewelry instead of fine, high end jewelry. Men's bracelets and necklaces are commonly made of stainless steel.

Titanium is a color combination of silver, grey, and white. It is considered the hardest natural metal in the world, being much stronger than materials like gold, silver, and platinum. One of the added benefits of titanium is that it is extremely light weight. Titanium has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal. It also is 100% hypoallergenic and corrosion free. Titanium has become a popular metal for men's wedding rings. Titanium rings are now sold at just about every jewelry store.

Tungsten is also a grayish, white color and very strong and durable. The difference between tungsten ad titanium is that tungsten is quite heavy in weight. It is scratch resistant quality makes it another popular metal for men's wedding rings.

These three metals are not only used for men's wedding rings, bracelets, and necklaces. There are plenty more men's jewelry options with the durable and masculine characteristics of titanium, tungsten, and stainless steel.

Platinum Engagement Rings

The platinum used in platinum engagement rings is much more rare than gold and perhaps this is why it costs 4x as much as yellow gold and 2x as much as white gold. Unlike gold, platinum is used in almost its pure form in jewelry. Platinum's purity is indicated by a 3 digit number which should be marked on the band. For example, If your band is marked "950 platinum", the band is 95% pure platinum with alloys constituting 5% of the ring. Most platinum is mined in Russia and South Africa.

Platinum's silvery-white luster looks beautiful against most gemstones, hence it is increasingly a very popular choice for one's engagement ring setting. Platinum will feel heavier on one's finger than other metals.

One of the lesser known facts about platinum is that it is hypo-allergenic and will not irritate your skin. My friend, who recently got married, was complaining to me about her white-gold engagement and wedding bands, which were making her finger itch. As a result, she is only able to wear it every few days and may have to get the inside of it plated in platinum or another metal. What a hassle.

Another positive thing about platinum is that it is low maintenance. Platinum will not rust, tarnish, or require frequent trips to the jewelry repair store. My white-gold engagement ring is not making my finger itch but it lost is luster a number of months ago. When I used some self-tanner, it seemed to erode the plating revealing a yellow gold color underneath. I eventually need to take it in to get it re-rhodium-plated. In other words, I'm a low maintenance girl sportin' a high maintenance ring.

Tips Of Buying Enagement Rings For Your Loved Ones

If things go right, you'll only be buying one engagement ring in your lifetime. But an engagement ring is a big investment. With your lack of experience, how are you going to make sure you find one that your sweetheart likes but is still a wise purchase? Follow these ten steps, and you're sure to find the perfect engagement ring.

1) Determine Your Budget When a guy's shopping for an engagement ring, salespeople often do a sneaky thing - they make him think that the amount of his love is tied to how much he spends on a ring. Better to figure out how much you can afford to spend before you step foot in a store. The standard rule is two months salary - but - this is also a rule that the diamond industry created! However it's still a decent place to start, but then figure out your personal budget.

2 ) Pay Attention You're going to have to make a lot of choices - platinum or gold? Modern or traditional? Flashy or understated? It's easier if you've done your homework beforehand. Look at the jewelry your sweetheart wears on a daily basis - if it's all silver with intricate designs - look for a platinum engagement ring with intricate designs (often called filigree). If it's just a few heavy gold pieces, well, then go in that direction.

3) Choose a Stone While jewelers will sell you a preset ring, you can often get a better deal if you choose the diamond separately. It helps if you know what shape your sweetheart wants - round, pear, marquis, etc. The most classic shape is a round solitaire. More homework - read The Four Cs of Diamond Buying. You'll thank me later. Another money saving tip - look for a diamond with high color and cut, but with slightly lower clarity. Make sure you look at the stone with a jeweler's loupe (like a magnifying glass) - but most flaws (or "inclusions") can barely be seen even with a loupe.

4) Choose the Setting After you've got your stone, then comes the setting. You could go for simple with a solitaire setting, or you could add filigree, extra side stones, and other details. You can choose gold, white or rose gold, platinum, or even titanium.

5) Maximize Your Budget If your intended is always talking about huge diamond engagement rings, but two months of your salary wouldn't buy a Big Mac, you're going to have to stretch the budget. Ask for a stone with more surface area - it won't sparkle as much but it will look bigger. Ask for stones that are slightly less than the next carat (0.8 instead of 1 or 1.9 instead of 2) - the almost indiscernible difference can add up to big savings. Instead of a diamond solitaire engagement ring, consider a less expensive center gemstone (such as tourmaline, blue topaz, sapphire) flanked by two small diamonds. Choose white gold instead of platinum. And consider an antique engagement ring.

6) Get a Buddy Don't go into a jewelry store alone. They're scary places full of way too many choices. If you can, bring your sweetheart's best friend or mom along to help you choose. But if you're worried they'll spill the beans, bring a trusted buddy of yours. Make sure they have taste, or you'll be trying to propose with a ringpop. Also, assuming they like the person you're buying it for, this is a great moment to bond with your parents and get their advice.

7) Think About Bringing Your Sweetheart With You You'll lose the element of surprise, but you'll be sure that she likes her engagement ring. More and more couples are doing it this way.

8) Get a Quality Jeweler Ask for recommendations from friends and family. My advice is to stick to the mom and pop jewelers and try to avoid the national chains - they often sacrifice quality for mass marketing. But make sure the store is accredited by the Jewelers of America or is a member of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Before you buy, find out what the return policy is so that you can exchange it if you didn't do your homework properly.

9) Plan Ahead You may not be able to just walk out of a jewelry store with a ring. Not only will you need to save up for it, but depending on what you order it could take a couple weeks for them to set the stone, do any engraving, or even custom design your ring (like Brad Pitt did for Jennifer Aniston). So if you want to propose on a certain date, make sure you start working on the ring early.

10) Get it In Writing Would you buy a house without an inspection? No? Well then don't buy a diamond without an independent diamond-grading report from the GIA or the American Gem Society. It should include the 4 c's of color, cut, clarity and carat, as well as the shape and size. And, like your house, don't forget to get the ring insured.

Online Shopping Tips - Jewelry

The internet streamlines the way a company does business. It cuts operating costs while creating an international presence that can increase profits exponentially. But what does this mean for the consumer? It means competitive prices, a wider variety of products, a hassle-free shopping experience and a more satisfying purchase. Despite the light-years E-Commerce has come in the last half-decade, one thing seems to remain the same: the way people shop. With the emergence of different internet shopping tools, websites and widgets its still surprising that only a small percentage of online shoppers do extensive research before making a purchase. Making an informed decision is key to online shopping and should be at the top of your priority list, especially when you're buying big ticket items.

Jewelry Shopping Aids

Jewelry, for instance, generates Billions of dollars each year for internet retailers, however only a fraction of these sales is attributed to a referral from a shopping comparison website. On the other hand, those who rely on shopping comparison websites can miss coming across better quality products at similar if not better prices from newer merchants who do not appear in those advertising channels. This is why it is very important to utilize all media at your disposal to make an informed decision. In short, do not limit yourself to natural search engine results, pricing comparison sites or widgets and apps, but use a combination of all three.

Get Educated

The amount of information you know on any given product or website is another factor that determines the outcome of any internet purchase. A successful online jewelry purchase involves understanding jewelry terminology and specifications while getting a basic understanding of precious metals, gemstones and diamonds. Without this you are unable to judge whether or not a website is being upfront about the products they are selling (i.e. is the price is too good to be true?) or if you really are getting a great quality product at a competitive price. As a jewelry connoisseur a quick browse through of a website is enough for me to determine whether or not I can trust the retailer with my personally identifiable information (credit card information, billing/shipping address and email address). Therefore, a basic understanding of jewelry helps you put up the red flags when weeding out the scamming sites from legitimate businesses trying to provide the best possible shopping experience at an affordable price.

Test Drive Before Committing

Finally, it is also important to conduct a quick audit of the website to ensure they have the E-Commerce staples. A security certificate and contact information (telephone number AND address) is important when considering to purchase from a website. I suggest sending a test email to gauge their response times and level of support offered before committing to a purchase. As for the security certificate, all online jewelry websites need to divert you to a secure page when logging in to your account, or when you are creating an account and making a purchase. If they do not, one, if not both of these is true: 1) they do not take protecting your information seriously or 2) they are not an actual online jewelry retailer. No matter which of these it may be, steer clear.

Gold Jewelry - What Do the Purity Markings Mean?

Gold jewelry comes in several different grades of purity, from 10 karat to 24. Since you can't tell how pure gold is just by looking, you have to rely on the markings that are stamped on the piece of jewelry. But, exactly what do they mean, and which markings should you be looking for?

First of all, the reason any gold jewelry would be less than 100 percent pure is that gold is soft, so other metals are mixed in to strengthen the jewelry. In the United States, the purity of gold is measured in karats, which work just like percentage points- except that there are 24 rather than 100. For example, 24 karat is the same as 100% pure, and 12 karat is the same as 50% pure.

In Europe, purity is usually measured in parts per thousand. These also work like percentage points, except that there are 1000 rather than 100. For example, 750 parts per thousand (PPT) equals 75% pure.

The karatage (number of karats) or PPT of the gold jewelry is usually stamped somewhere in an unobtrusive place, like the inside of a ring. If you look there, you might see a tiny "14K", "750", or something similar. Here are some common markings and the gold content they refer to:

24K or 999 gold is 100% pure.

22K or 917 gold is 92% pure.

18K or 750 gold is 75% pure.

14K or 585 gold is 58% pure.

10K or 417 gold is 42% pure.

So, which markings, or karatage, should you look for when buying gold jewelry? It depends on a few factors:

Your budget- higher percentages of gold will make the jewelry more valuable, and lower percentages make it more affordable.
Desired color- if you are looking for white gold jewelry, this is typically 14 karat gold that has been mixed with white-colored metals like silver or zinc.
Metal allergies- if you have a skin allergy to nickel or another metal that might be mixed with the jewelry, you should consider 22 or 24 karat gold.
Strength- since 24 karat gold is fairly soft, any jewelry that requires some strength should be mixed with stronger metals. For example, necklaces are often made from 10 or 14 karat gold.

White Gold Wedding Bands For the Big Wedding Day

Many couples make a decision to shop for wedding rings for themselves for the Big day that are as unique and distinctive as their connection and relationship. Here are a couple of ideas of different designs you may find attractive.

Eternity Bands

Eternity Bands are Bands circled with gemstones or other valuable stones. The continuous circle of gems is said to be the symbol of unending, eternal love, making eternity rings a favourite wedding band or anniversary present of choice. Eternity Rings can can come in an array of metals and stones that give the appearance and colour to echo the couple's affection for each other.

Some Couples desire half eternity bands, with gems only set in one side of the rings, whilst other couples desire a full circle of gemstones. Because of the fact that the gemstones have to be arranged closely together the most favourable shapes or cuts are the round emerald and princess cuts.

Bands with formations or impressions adorning natural gold or silver wedding bands with assorted designs or forms have been around since 700 AD, in numerous cultures. The historic sign of the ouroboros, the reptile which consumes its own tail, was a shape used for rings made of iron in ancient Rome. It also echoes the hope for a unending marriage union that's forever renewed making it a right preference for a wedding band pattern.

Celtic wedding rings are generally enhanced with plain knot work formations that have a long history in Celtic art. These formations imitate tendrils and vines. The beautiful symmetry of these intertwined impressions which are natural, cascading echo of the curves found in nature. Brides and grooms with an Irish background find the Celtic design usually charming but those from all ethnic backgrounds have chosen these delightful engravings for their wedding bands design.

If you would like a individual band that is more delicate than a motif or a design Maybe consider a solid metal wedding ring with a hammered effect, a smashed, metal finish, or a pin finish for a different but handsome look.Another option is to add colour to your band by blending metals or by using a hot torch to bring out varying colours of silver and gold.Braided wedding rings are also a unique choice for wedding rings for women. You can find wedding ring arrangements with woven metals in a single colour, two colours or three colours

Antique rings

Classical rings from the 1930's regularly have scroll like engraving, quiet milgrain work or uplifted beaded sides on the band and delicate filigree work or formations made with encircled threads of metal generally representing lace which you might find appealing. Old rings are a favourable pick if you are trying to find a ring that is distinctive and sure to develop a chat or comment whenever you wear your wedding band or ring.

Why Should You Build an Engagement Ring

Deciding upon the correct custom build engagement ring can be really hard, although in the beginning people say, lets get a custom build ring for this special occasion, this way I will mark the engagement with color all my own and save some money behind the back. What actually happens is they decide upon the metal and the setting of the ring but when the time comes for them to decide upon the inset stone, they get confused.

This confusion often leads them to rethink their ring resulting in an engagement ring much more expensive than they planned. Now for all those who do not want that to happen, here is one pointer no one else will tell you so easily. Try to make your mind up by writing things down. When you write down something, you not just think something, but you think about something so much, you say, I do not need to further rethink the matter, so just so I do not forget, let us write it down.

Now back to the engagement ring, I mentioned the decisiveness of writing things down because people often leave a lot of wriggling space when they are deciding upon the price of the ring.

What happens is that people decide that they will spend somewhere around XX amount of money, of that they will spend Y on the ring, and Z on the stone. But when they go to the jeweler, they are faced by stones which are obviously more expensive than they thought, they end up buying the expensive ones and the price for their ring goes out of the roof.

What should happen is that you write down the overall cost you want to spend upon the ring, do not leave space for negotiation. Now write down what you want to spend for the ring out of that and then what you want to spend on the stone. Take this sticky note to the jeweler with you and tell him exactly how much you wish t spend on your ring and its components. You will find that once you are decided upon the costs and that certain preference in your stone, your final price will be within your budget.

The Meaning of Eternity Rings

Eternity rings are beautiful symbols of love that your sweetheart is sure to cherish for years to come. But what are the true meanings of eternity rings? We've researched it, and found out that they can mean lots of different things to different people.

Eternity rings are rings, usually made of gold, white gold, or platinum, that feature stones that encompass the outside of the ring all the way around. Some feature stones that go half-way around, while most feature stones all the way around. The stones most often used are diamonds. Eternity rings are used very often for wedding bands, but are becoming increasingly popular as anniversary gifts and symbolizations of many special moments in a couple's life.

Wedding bands symbolize the eternal circle of love and life. They are one continuous circle of precious metal that can never be broken. Many people have their wedding bands made to fit and don't believe in sizing them. This is simply because they don't want the band to ever be cut. The circle must never be broken. This is one reason that eternity rings are so popular as wedding bands. They don't only beautifully compliment a diamond engagement ring, but they are one continuous unbreakable circle. Because of diamond placement circling the ring, you can't size it. Cutting the band could cause you to lose stones and some believe, break the eternal circle. Eternity rings must be made to be the size that you need.

As one of the strongest substances on the planet, diamonds themselves represent eternity. Diamonds can mean undying love and devotion, loyalty, fidelity, eternal friendship, unwavering partnership and commitment. They can also represent the future, promising a life of togetherness and closeness. Diamonds on eternity rings represent all of these meanings in an eternal circle, essentially magnifying their meanings, continually encompassing the finger in a never-ending circle of lasting beauty.

Some people use eternity rings to symbolize various moments in their lives. One man described why he chose an eternity ring for his bride of fifty years. He realized that each one could symbolize something important that they had shared or an adversity that they had overcome together. He wrote a beautiful poem describing what each stone meant. One was for the first time he laid eyes on her. The next was for their first kiss. Then came marriage, children, their first home, getting through the hardships that they had faced together with unwavering commitment to each other, and so on. Coming up with his own meanings made this eternity ring extremely special to his wife and surely put a smile on her face every time she saw it after that. This special ring and it's story will most definitely become a treasured family memory and heirloom in the future.

In short, the eternity rings that you give can mean whatever you want them to. Eternity rings should always symbolize something. Whether it is marriage, the birth of a child, anniversary or just a special time in your lives, eternity rings can really solidify the moment, capturing the uniqueness and sacred bond that you share in a stunning circle of stones. Your special relationships, friendships and love can be forever symbolized in eternity rings.
